Our practitioners have worked at the frontline of complex operational environments, bringing extensive expertise across leadership, digital, investigations, community, intelligence, and emergency preparedness and resilience. They bring first-hand experience of the challenges our clients and learners face — from leading people and making decisions under pressure to managing risk, harnessing digital capability, building community confidence and preparing for critical incidents.

Lead Operational Trainer
Former Gloucester Detective Sergeant, hostage negotiator and safeguarding specialist. Recent frontline investigative experience. Ensures content reflects local operational realities and challenges.

Safeguarding Specialist
West Midlands Police Investigator. National Crime Agency recognised expert in harmful practices. One of only five UK specialists in forced marriage. Brings national expertise and contemporary safeguarding practice.
Narinder Sidhu
Domestic Abuse & Safeguarding Specialist
Former Thames Valley Police Sergeant. Over 30 years’ policing experience. Specialist in domestic abuse, honour-based abuse and FGM. Trauma-informed practitioner and community safeguarding leader.

Former Police Superintendent and nationally recognised resilience practitioner. Specialist in strategic command, resilience planning and organisational preparedness. Extensive experience advising public sector leaders and resilience partnerships. Leads delivery of strategic leadership sessions and resilience doctorine.
Dr Stuart Hyde
Strategic Command Lead
Former Chief Constable and Deputy Chief Constable. Former Chair of the West Midlands Local Resilience Forum. National leader in civil contingencies, critical incident command and resilience. Delivers strategic command and multi-agency decision-making.
Dr Brian Harris MBA
Multi-Agency Exercising Specialist.
Former Detective Inspector, Scottish Multi Agency Resilience Testing & Exercising Unit. Designed and led national resilience exercising programmes across Scotland. Specialist in counter terrorism, crisis, response and exercising. Leads exercising methodology and operational scenario development.

Experienced designer and facilitator of leadership programmes. Develops leaders to perform effectively, lead change and build high-performing teams.
Dr Kate Payling
Senior leadership and transformation specialist with extensive local government and organisational change experience. Former lead of a £20m regional transformation programme and senior leadership programmes. Executive leadership consultant specialising in organisational transformation, leadership development and building capability.

25 years’ experience in intelligence and analysis with the Metropolitan Police Service. Extensive expertise in the National Intelligence Model, strategic & tactical assessments and partnership intelligence. Proven lead for collaborative problem-solving and analytical capability development.
Richard Neville
Senior policing leader and accredited detective with 30 years’ Metropolitan Police Service experience. Specialist in intelligence-led operations, the National Intelligence Model, safeguarding and risk management. Extensive experience translating intelligence and analysis into strategic and tactical decision-making, resource deployment and operational outcomes

Serving Detective Inspector with the Metropolitan Police Service. Specialist in intelligence-led operations, the National Intelligence Model, safeguarding and risk management. Extensive expertise in using intelligence and analysis to inform strategic and tactical decision-making, target resources effectively and improve operational outcomes.
Scott Wilson
Former Metropolitan Police Detective Chief Superintendent and National Co-ordinator for Protect and Prepare under the UK CONTEST strategy. Counter terrorism and critical incident specialist with extensive experience in major investigations, emergency preparedness, CBRNe and strategic crisis management.

Community Safety & Crime Prevention - Specialist Team

Senior policing leader with over 28 years’ experience across operational policing and criminal justice.. Specialist in community safety, crime prevention and the impact of organised crime on communities. Extensive experience combining operational practice, academic research and partnership working.
Andy Hall

Dr William Graham
Former senior police officer with 30 years’ operational experience. Specialist in violence reduction, gang prevention, focused deterrence and the impact of organised crime on communities. Extensive research and consultancy experience supporting police, local government and partners to develop evidence-based approaches to reducing violence, preventing crime and improving community safety.
Graham McCallum
Former senior Police Scotland officer with almost 30 years’ experience in community safety, operational policing and prevention. Extensive experience working across policing, emergency services and partner agencies to strengthen preventative capability, improve preparedness and develop coordinated approaches that protect communities and reduce harm.
Our Community Safety & Crime Prevention faculty draws on extensive experience across policing, local government and partner agencies to strengthen prevention, reduce harm and build safer, more resilient communities.
Digital & Cyber - Specialist Team
Mark Cameron
Digital forensics and cybercrime specialist with over 30 years’ policing experience as a practitioner, investigator and senior manager. Expertise in technology-enabled crime, digital evidence and forensic investigation, including work with the NPIA and management of CEOP’s digital forensic response. Supports organisations to strengthen digital investigation and cyber capability.
Brett Lovegrove
A former senior UK police officer specialising in counter-terrorism, cyber defence and critical infrastructure protection. He now advises on digital security, resilience and emerging technologies, with a particular focus on artificial intelligence, cyber risk and crisis leadership.
Dr Stuart Hyde QPM
A former Chief Constable and Queen’s Police Medal recipient with extensive national leadership experience in cyber and digital crime. His expertise spans cybercrime prevention, online child protection, fraud, complex investigations, national policy and international programmes tackling cyber-enabled crime.
Selina Robinson
Selina is an experienced forensic investigator and counter-terrorism professional with expertise in digital investigation, cyber-enabled crime and security risk. Her work combines operational experience with academic research, focusing on emerging digital threats, counter-extremism and security within complex maritime environments.
Our Cyber & Digital faculty brings together specialist expertise in cybercrime, digital investigations, emerging technologies and online threats, combining strategic insight with real-world operational experience.
