Polly Harrar is the founder of The Sharan Project, a registered charity (England and Wales) supporting South Asian Women in the UK who have been affected by abuse or persecution, to include forced marriage, honour abuse, dowry violence, domestic abuse, disownment and cultural conflict.
As a strategic leader, she is the joint Chair of the London Harmful Practices Group led by the Metropolitan Police, member of the Home Office National Oversight Group, the Forced Marriage Partnership Board within the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and Home Office and an advisory member for the Women’s Interfaith Network.
She is a recognised Expert Witness on Forced Marriage and Honour Based Abuse and has an extensive understanding of the wide range of harmful practices faced by BAME women and children and can regularly be heard speaking on these matters at a national and local level and as a subject matter expert on mainstream media
Her track record in delivering training is reflected in her engagement with various UK Police Forces, CPS, Magistrates, High Court Judges, Home Office, Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Educational Institutes and front line professionals.
Ranjit holds Level A & B (Intermediate Plus) in occupational testing from The British Psychological Society and is a Neuro Linguistic Programming Practitioner. Ranjit has coached senior police officers, both nationally & internationally, including senior police officers from Norway, Holland, Ireland, USA & France. Ranjit holds a Masters in Education, Masters in Applied Criminology through Cambridge University & a Doctorate in Change Management. In 2006, he joined the National Senior Career Advisory Service with the Home Office as a Development Advisor. In this role he coached senior police officers and staff from Superintendents to Chief Constables and top team development programme.
In 2011, he started his own consultancy firm Guru Leadership and Coaching. His clients are senior executives from Prison Service, HMRC, BBC, Royal Mail, Reading School & Barclays Bank. Ranjit is an Associate Tutor & Coach for College of Policing. He also delivers Stepping Up To Chief Officer Programme for aspiring Superintendents & Chief Superintendents to maximise their potential to step up to be a chief officer.
Dr Charlotte Proudman is an award-winning barrister, Cambridge academic and campaigner fighting for women's rights in and out of court. She represents survivors of rape, domestic abuse and coercive and controlling behaviour in court whilst also challenging misconceptions across the sector. She uses her knowledge and experience of the justice system to advocate for legal change to ensure protection and support for victims and survivors. Combining research and the law, Charlotte is a Senior Research Associate at the University of Cambridge.
She is the founder and director of Right to Equality, a non-profit working to advance gender equality. For over a decade, Charlotte has fearlessly promoted gender equality under the law, successfully spearheading campaigns to change the law for women.
